Who are these new owners at Beach Bum Bakery we are hearing about?? đ„đȘ
Hello, dear friends and neighbors! Weâre Alexis & Nathan McCourt, and as of Monday, October 13, 2025, we are honored to be the new owners of Beach Bum Bakery in Pewaukee, Wisconsin! (More on our vision below, we hope youâll come in to say âHiâ to us in person soon!)
A little about us: We are both proud Wisconsin lake kids who were born, raised, and still currently live in the southeastern Wisconsin area. We both attended UW-La Crosse at the same time, though our paths didnât cross until years after college thanks to mutual friends. We got married last October and have always dreamed about going on new adventures and building a business together. So we thought, why not do this right away as newly-weds?!
We absolutely adore lake country and are passionate about cooking, traveling, and learning the ropes of bakery life together (with invaluable help from our friends and family)!
Taking over Beach Bum Bakery is a dream that still doesn't feel real. We deeply respect the legacy that Sarah Stephens built here with her community-driven approach, her recipes, and the welcoming spirit she instilled in every corner of the bakery. We sincerely wish Sarah and her family the best in their new adventures in California, and we hope to carry forward her heart and vision for this space.
As for our favorite treats? Alexis is all about the triple chocolate chip cookie (hands down her go-to pick). And Nathan canât resist the savory hot ham & rolls offered every Sunday (he secretly wishes they were available every single day!).
At Beach Bum Bakery, we'll continue to deliver a rotating daily menu of breakfast and dessert items such as muffins, croissants, scones, turnovers, brownies, cupcakes, cookies (at least eight flavors daily, including Alexis's favorite triple chocolate chip!), seasonal treats, our infamous weekend donuts, and yes, Nathan's favorite Hot Ham & Rolls available fresh every Sunday morning!
Weâre truly grateful for the warm welcome our transition has already received. The Lake Country Tribune wrote a wonderful piece, âNew Owners Prepare to Take Over Beach Bum Bakery,â highlighting our excitement and dedication, and we also appreciate the coverage from The Waukesha FREEMAN bringing attention to our new chapter here.
Please join us tomorrow (Saturday, October 18th) at the Positively Pewaukee Halloween Fun Fest for a chance to meet us in person! Details and timing here: Positively Pewaukee Halloween Fun Fest 2025.
We canât wait to become part of the greater Village of Pewaukee community, to see you in the bakery, learn about your experiences in the area, hear your favorite treat requests, and share in the joy of good food, good company, and a place that feels like home.
